The Sunrise Clock
The Daylight Lamp
Back-up batteries for the clock (2 AAA) aren't included.
Made for you if you hate being jolted awake, you live on the snooze button from November, or you're doing the school run before the sun is up.
Not for you if you sleep through everything. The sound is gentle on purpose: light first, sound second. 7 of our first 20 reviewers wanted more or louder sound options, so if you need a really loud alarm, keep your phone as a back-up.
Sound familiar?
Every bit of you says it's still the middle of the night.
Phone glare in a black room, waiting to feel human before you can face the stairs.
Nobody's had breakfast, everyone's grumpy, and you hate being the nag.
Not because of the week ahead. Because of how dark it will be.
In June
Sun up before 5am. You're often awake before the alarm.
In December
Sun up around 8:15am. Three snoozes and still in the dark.
Same you. Different light.
Nothing has gone wrong with you. In winter the sun just isn't up when you are, and getting up in the dark is hard for anyone. Morrow brings the morning light to you, at the time you set.
Bring back the lightWhat's actually missing
In June the sun is up before 5am. Light builds through the curtains for hours before the alarm, and getting up feels natural.
By late December the average UK sunrise is about 8:15am, long after most alarms. We call it the missing dawn. The Winter Light Kit puts it back.
Reviews

Absolute game changer for me. Used to wake up feeling like I’d been hit by a bus. Now the light builds up and I just open my eyes properly instead of panicking. Nothing I’d change really.
Who it's for: Parents, shift workers, anyone who wants a calmer start. Not necessary if you jump out of bed every morning.
Mornings were pure chaos with kids and a loud phone. This has calmed things down a bit – light wakes me first so I’m less grumpy. Sound options could be better though.
Who it's for: Parents or anyone who hates being jolted awake. Not for people who sleep through everything.
I used to lie there scrolling for ages after the alarm went off. With this the light does the job and I’m up before the sound most days. Only thing is it takes a bit of getting used to the gradual light – first few mornings I still felt surprised.
Who it's for: Anyone who’s tired of harsh alarms. Not great if your partner hates any light at all.
Before this I was pure snooze button chaos. Alarm goes off, I hate the world for 20 minutes, then stumble about like a zombie. Now the light comes up slowly and I actually feel half human by the time I get up. Only thing is the highest brightness is a bit much for me, so I keep it lower.
Who it's for: Anyone who hates being jolted awake. Not great if you share a bed with someone who likes it pitch black till the last second.
Properly changed my mornings. Used to feel stressed the second I woke up. Now it’s gradual and I actually open my eyes without wanting to throw the phone. Nothing I’d change.
Who it's for: Anyone who’s tired of harsh alarms. Not necessary if you already wake up easily.
It does work – light wakes me up nicer than the phone ever did. But the sound is a bit weak for me and I still sometimes need a second alarm. Also wish the brightness went a bit higher.
Who it's for: People who are light sleepers. Not the best if you need something really forceful to get you out of bed.
Winter mornings used to properly ruin me. Dark room, loud phone, instant stress. This thing just gently wakes you up with the light and I don’t feel as rough anymore. Honestly can’t think of anything I don’t like about it.
Who it's for: People who struggle in the darker months. Probably not needed if you’re already up at 6 without an alarm.
Used to hit snooze about four times every morning and still feel knackered. Now the light does most of the work and I’m properly awake by the time the sound starts. The sound choices are a bit limited though – would love more options.
Who it's for: Good for light sleepers and people who hate abrupt alarms. Not ideal if you need something really loud.
Mornings were just me fighting my phone every day. Now it feels more natural, like the room is slowly waking up with me. Big difference. Only tiny complaint is the base is a bit heavy when you want to move it.
Who it's for: Anyone who’s not a morning person. Less useful if you travel a lot.
Before: chaotic, loud alarm, bad mood for the first hour. Now: light comes up, I feel less foggy, and the day starts better. Only small thing is I’d prefer a few more sound options.
Who it's for: People who hate their current alarm. Not for people who need maximum volume to get up.
Properly soft start to the day now. Used to feel stressed the second I woke up. Now it’s gradual and I feel better in the mornings. No real complaints.
Who it's for: Good for most people who struggle with mornings. Probably overkill if you’re already an early bird.
Winter used to be awful. Dark room, horrible alarm, whole morning ruined. This has made a massive difference – I wake up properly and don’t feel as drained. Love it.
Who it's for: Anyone who struggles with seasonal darkness. Not needed if you live somewhere sunny and already wake up easily.
Used to dread getting up. Now the light comes on slowly and by the time the sound starts I’m already sitting up. Feels much kinder on the system. Only small thing is the lamp function is nice but I don’t use it every night.
Who it's for: People who want a gentler morning. Not ideal if you need pure darkness.
Honestly one of the better things I’ve bought recently. Used to feel like the alarm was attacking me. Now it’s gradual and I feel more human when I get up. No issues really.
Who it's for: Anyone who’s not a natural morning person. Less useful if you’re already sorted with mornings.
It works well for the light part. I wake up calmer than before. The only thing that bothers me is the base takes up a bit of space on a small bedside table.
Who it's for: Good for people who want a softer start. Not the best if space is really tight.
Before this I was just existing on snooze and coffee. Now the light does the heavy lifting and I feel less like a zombie. Small thing – I wish the sound was a bit more customisable.
Who it's for: People who hate their phone alarm. Not for heavy sleepers who need maximum volume.
It does what it says. Light builds up nicely and I feel more awake than I used to. Only criticism is the base is heavier than I expected.
Who it's for: Good for most people who struggle with mornings. Not ideal if you move it around a lot.
Winter mornings were the worst. Dark, cold, loud alarm. This has made them feel a lot more doable. I wake up properly now instead of fighting it. Only tiny thing is I’d like a few more sound options.
Who it's for: People who struggle in the darker months. Not needed if you’re already an early riser.
The light part is really good and I do wake up nicer. But the sound is a bit quiet for me and I still end up using my phone as backup some days. Also a bit pricey for what it is.
Who it's for: Light sleepers who want something gentle. Not the best if you need something loud and forceful.
Honestly just works. Used to feel dreadful in the mornings. Now the light comes up and I feel more human. Simple as that. No real complaints.
Who it's for: Anyone who wants a calmer start to the day. Not necessary if you already bounce out of bed.
How it works

What the clock does
It wakes you with light, winds you down at bedtime and stays out of the way in between.

What the lamp does
Indoor lighting is typically around 500 lux. A bright day outside is around 25,000. On dark winter mornings the Daylight Lamp puts bright, even, daylight-white light right where you sit.

Why buy from Morrow
We're a small UK shop that does one thing: winter mornings. So here's what you get from us.
The sunrise clock for the bedroom and the daylight lamp for breakfast, together for £89. Most sunrise clocks are sold on their own; with ours, the light carries on downstairs.
Most sunrise clocks give you 30 to 45 days to decide. You get 60 nights from delivery, long enough to try it on proper December mornings, not just October ones. Not for you? We send a free returns label and refund you in full.
No app, no Wi-Fi, no subscription, no updates. You set it on the clock once, and your phone can charge downstairs.
Common gripes with sunrise clocks include a display that glares at night and buttons you can't find in the dark. Ours has a dimmer wheel for the display, a long snooze bar on top, and it keeps its settings in a power cut (with 2 AAA batteries, not included).
Morrow is a small UK business. Email us and a person replies, usually within one working day.
Morrow is run by me, from Manchester. Every email comes to a real person. If anything isn't right with your order, tell me and I'll sort it.Alex, Morrow, Manchester

For parents
If you're shouting up the stairs three times every school morning, you're not alone. Teenagers' body clocks naturally run later than ours, so 7am really does feel like the middle of the night to them. It's biology, not laziness.
Put a Sunrise Clock in their room. The light comes up before their alarm, so the first thing that wakes them is a bright room, not you.
Family Mornings
The Winter Light Kit for you, plus a Sunrise Clock for their room.

Thinking of someone?
The mum doing the school run in the dark. The partner on early shifts. The friend who's dreaded winter mornings for years. It's a present they'll use every single morning until spring.
A new morning routine takes a few weeks to settle in, not a few days. So use it on proper December mornings, not just October ones. If you're still fighting the alarm by night 60, email us and we'll send a free returns label and a full refund. This is on top of your 14-day legal right to cancel.

What it won't do
It won't make the sun rise earlier, and it won't fix a late night. It isn't a medical device and doesn't treat any condition. It just means you stop waking up in the dark.
Questions
The light reaches their side of the bed too, so if your partner sleeps later, put the clock on your side, turn the brightness down, or use sound only.
Yes. We chose a clock with simple controls, because fiddly buttons are a common complaint about sunrise alarms. Plug it in, set the time and your alarm, and the light does the rest. Your "First 14 Mornings" plan (we email it with your order) walks you through the first fortnight, and if you get stuck, email us and a real person will help.
Honestly, it's gentle on purpose: light first, then a soft sound. Several of our first reviewers say they're up before the sound starts. But if you sleep through everything, keep your phone alarm as a back-up for the first week. 7 of our first 20 reviewers said they'd like more or louder sound options, and we'd rather tell you now.
No. Everything is set on the clock itself, with no app, no Wi-Fi and no subscription. That means your phone can charge in another room overnight.
Switch it on while you have breakfast or sit at your desk. You don't need to look at it. Carry on with breakfast, reading or your phone.
If you have an eye condition, or take medication that makes you sensitive to light, check with your GP or optician before using a bright light.
No. Morrow products are for everyday comfort and routine. They aren't intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If you're worried about low mood, please speak to your GP.
Use your kit at home for up to 60 nights from delivery. If it doesn't make your mornings easier, contact us and we'll send you a free returns label and a full refund. This is on top of your 14-day legal right to cancel.
Delivery is free and tracked, and you'll get your tracking link by email as soon as your order is on its way.
Yes. Put their address in the delivery details at checkout and it goes straight to them. Getting one for the kids too? Family Mornings adds a second Sunrise Clock for their room, for less than buying it separately. We can also email you a gift receipt with no prices on it: just ask.
